Maverick bass lines and dubwise sensibilities

There's been quite some time since the first release of 'Stalker' (one of Rough Trade's best hits of 2004) and the day when Shackleton decided to lay the first stone for Skull Disco, the famous label he created in partnership with Laurie 'Appleblim' Osborne. Since then, his productions have injected fresh air into dubstep, adding African percussion, ethnic voice samples and elements stolen from Basic Channel techno and the genre's characteristic subwoofers.

Shackleton has been carving out his own brand of eclecticism on Skull Disco with intricate, snaking percussion, hypnotic melodies, seriously deep bass lines and dubwise sensibilities.
